Here is where you will find a list our lessons and workshops that we are hosting during the year. I will update this page when we added new lessons and workshops. Bookings are essential for all sessions and deposits need to be paid on booking (50% of the workshop fee.) On booking and payment of the deposit you will receive the workshop requirements list. Note: Your deposit/workshop fee is non-refundable. Please make sure you know the workshop/classes start and finishing times, so you can get the most out of your workshop time. Classes will not run pass the finishing time, so if you are late you miss out.
All classes and workshops are held in store at 7 Wasleys Rd Mallala, South Australia Ph 08 8527 2120 unless marked.
We do have a hot weather policy in place, if temperatures reach 40 degrees Celsius or a Catastrophic fire ban day is issued, please contact the shop to see if the workshop is going ahead. Some workshops will go ahead if a special teacher has been booked.
Classes finish on Friday 19th December 2025 and and restart on the Thursday 22nd January 2026. We will have a Christmas New Year’s break between Sunday 21st December and 15th January 2026.
Sit and Sew Sessions are on the first Saturday and Sunday of the month.
Saturday sessions are on the 6th December, 31st January & 7th February 10am-2pm (4hr Session) $15 per session
Sunday sessions are on the 7th December, 1st February & 1st March. Time is 10 am- 2pm, (4 hr Session) $15 per session to be paid on the day. No teacher, you work on your own project. If you need help, book yourself into a Patchwork 101 session. Bring your project and your lunch. Tea, coffee are available. If you bring projects that require a teacher’s assistance you will be charged the Patchwork 101 price.
Patchwork & Quilting 101– this class is suitable for everyone, no matter what you are working on. Perfect if you are stuck on something as a teacher is in attendance or want to start something new.
Thursday morning class 9.30am-12.30pm (3hr class) $30 per person. On Friday’s there will be a morning class 9.30am – 12.30pm. (3 hr class) $30 per person and an afternoon class 1pm-4pm (3 hr class) $30 per person.
The Saturday class is on second Saturday of the month, which will be the 13th December, 14th February & 14th March. Class time 9.30am-12.30pm (3 hr class) $30 per person.
The Farmers Wife Quilt- Over 2026 we are going to be piecing the Farmers Wife Quilt by hand and by machine, starting in February. On the second Sunday of the month will be the hand piecing class and on the fourth Sunday of the month will be the machine piecing class 10am-2pm (4 hr workshop) $40 workshop. Please double check the listed dates below as public holiday may throw classes out. Hand piecing sessions are 8th February, 22nd March & 12th April. The Machine piecing sessions are 22nd February, 29th March & 26th April.
Quiltworx Jungle Magnolia Quilt- This is our 2026 Technique of the month class to be held over the third weekend of the month over 7 months. Classes start 15th February for the Sunday class (which is full) and 28th February for the Saturday class 9.30am-3pm (5 1/2 hrs). The cost is $675 for the queen size and covers your 7 workshop classes and the pattern. Fabric/kits extra Saturday dates are 21st March, 18th April, 16th May, 20th June, 18th July & 15th August. Sunday dates are 15th March, 19th April, 17th May, 21st June, 19th July & 16th August.
Quiltworx 101 Monthly Workshops. Mainly on the fourth Saturday of the month 10am-2.30pm. This is the session for all things Quiltworx. If you have started something that you need extra help, or you need Quiltworx homework time. These sessions are $60. Next sessions are 28th March & 23rd May.
By Annie Workshops– There will be a mix of set projects and bring any By Annie project workshops. Make sure you double check the dates as these workshop will move around depending what day is available. 10am-2pm (4hrs) $40 workshop fee. Next sessions are Sat 24th January and Sun 31st May.
Cynthia’s Ark Retreats– we run a variety of retreats over the course of the year. They vary from our Anything Goes Retreats to set project retreats. the Anything Goes Retreats are run 3 times a year, generally in March, June and October. Also you can book me as a teacher for your group retreats. You will find the retreats listed with the workshops. Check below for Retreat dates.

Sat 7th-Mon 9th March– Anything Goes Retreat- This will be held at the Mallala RSL during the day. $280 per person and includes your lunches, morning & afternoon teas, a small project kit, teacher on hand and shopping. No accommodation included. Limited spots ask for more information and booking form.
